Going from a State of Mind to a State of Being with Experiential

Typically when we think about creating change in our community we think of it in terms of what we can do individually. While this is great and can create positive change, it’s simply not enough. We need to start thinking about how we can create change collectively. If it is too difficult to organize a large group of individuals with the goal of creating positive communal change it makes sense to utilize a form of personal incentive and integrate it into your initiative.

What is TEDxLA?

TedXLA invites the village in which it is held to play a role in how we have a global impact. Where the action we take will be as important as the ideas we share. Imagine if we could allow each speaker and performer to bring people together and allow them to visualize an “imagined future”. How can we offer everyone the opportunity to touch and feel an idea? Imagine we could transform the previously impossible into possibility by one idea. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At TEDxLA, live speakers will spark deep discussion and connection. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.

TED is a nonprofit devoted to spreading ideas, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or less). TED began in 1984 as a conference where Technology, Entertainment, and Design converged, and today covers almost all topics — from science to business to global issues — in more than 100 languages.

Using their existing platform, TedX is incorporating that very idea into their ecosystem.

-integrating community action into the ticketing processes by utilizing new technologies

-partnering with brands and do-good initiatives around Los Angeles and surrounding areas

-working with volunteers, tastemakers and event organizers
